Donald Trump May Find Himself Banned from Britain

Summary: Although Trump will likely not be banned from Britain, much of the public would rather not see him enter the country again.

After making a series of controversial remarks, Donald Trump is finding himself no longer a tolerated guy in places throughout the world. Britain is the latest country to contemplate not letting the billionaire into the country.

With 560,000 people signing one petition, there are enough signatures to prompt a parliamentary debate. The debate will take place on the 18th but any conclusion reached will not be binding.

The comments made by Trump regarding Muslims have angered many. He specifically suggested that parts of London are so full of radical Muslims that police won’t even venture there. London’s Metropolitan Police disagree with Trump, “Mr. Trump could not be more wrong.” Even Prime Minister David Cameron called the comments “divisive, stupid and wrong.”

Britain rarely bans someone from entering the country because they have extreme exclusion policies or unacceptable behavior however Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, both anti-Muslim American speakers, have been banned before. Extremist Islamic preachers and others have also been banned when they were deemed “not conducive to the public good.”

Many legal experts highly doubt that Trump will be banned though. His comments were hurtful and stupid but not threatening or under the definition of “hate speech.” Others would rather see a debate with Trump instead of banning him, even the Muslim Council of Britain announced they would be happen to organize a delegation to accompany him as he tours London.
