Dentons to Add Brian McGowan to Atlanta Office

Summary: Dentons will be adding a highly experienced economic developer to their Atlanta office starting February 1.

Formerly the chief operating office for the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Brian McGowan is changing his scenery to the Dentons’ Atlanta office. Working for the largest law firm in the world, McGowan will be able to engage with business leaders, private-sector developers, and elected officials as he expands the global economic development initiatives of Dentons.

With a diverse background in economic development through serving in the administration for Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed as president and CEO of Invest Atlanta for three years, McGowan will prove to be an asset for the firm. As he puts it, “Everything in my world leads to an attorney at some point. My job will be to pull together all the economic development expertise throughout the entire firm and establish a one-stop shop for both our public-sector and private-sector clients.”

The official title of the role McGowan will be filing is a principal in the U.S. Public Policy and Regulation Practice. He will work with the public policy team at the firm comprised of former ambassadors, national party officials, members of the Congress, and top aids to presidents, senators, and governors.

He will also remain involved in local organizations in Atlanta as chair of the Georgia Foreign Trade Zone board, on boards for the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Georgia Advanced Technology Ventures at Georgia Tech, the Fort McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority, and the Shakespeare Tavern.
