Game developer Kung Fu Factory has filed a lawsuit against Jenner and the gamemaker because the two allegedly stole their ideas for Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, the extremely popular mobile app.
Kung Fu Factory claims they were contacted about creating a Kardashian-themed app in 2011, and that they developed a “detailed” pitch for a Kardashian game and gave it to Brian Siegrest, a representative for Jenner, the 60-year-old reality TV matriarch. The proposal stated how the characters would appear and how the game would be played by users.

TMZ obtained the lawsuit, where Kung Fu Factory detailed how they were strung along for months and told the game was “dead.” They were shocked when Kim Kardashian: Hollywood was released in June 2014, and that it allegedly contained elements from their proposal. Kung Fu Factory was not compensated and is now seeking $10 million in damages.
Glu told Gamespot that the charges were frivolous.
“Glu views this complaint as completely frivolous,” a company spokesperson said. “We were never contacted by, or even heard of, the plaintiff before they filed this complaint. Glu independently created Kim Kardashian: Hollywood and we will defend ourselves vigorously in this matter.”
Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is free to download, but it has generated hundreds of millions of dollars since its release due to its clever in-app purchases. In the game, players start as nobodies, but then work their way to the top of the Hollywood food chain, just like Kim did. To prepare for dates or red carpet appearances, players can make in-app purchases for things like clothing or energy to help them on their journey to superstardom.
The complaint was filed in California federal court. It asserts copyright claims, as well a breach of implied contract.
