Scott DeMartino Joins Blank Rome’s Tax Group

Summary: The Washington D.C. office of Blank Rome has received valuable tax credit expertise from the addition of partner Scott DeMartino.

Blank Rome LLP announced in a press release the addition of Scott DeMartino to their Washington D.C. office. He will be joining the Tax group as a partner from Bryan Cave LLP where he was counsel. His work will focus on real estate and renewable investments that use renewable energy tax credits, new markets tax credit, and historic rehabilitation tax credits. Steven Dinolfo, a senior paraprofessional, is joining DeMartino.

DeMartino started out as a senior tax advisor at two national accounting firms. This experience has taught him how to team up with clients to build structure real estate and renewable investments that produce economic, sustainable, and cultural benefits in the community for investment partners. This includes advising lenders, developers, investors, and nonprofits on how they can maximize historic rehabilitation tax credits and new markets tax credits. These investments change how rehabilitation health care centers, residential rental and commercial facilities, charter schools, community spaces, and other buildings are constructed today.

DeMartino has a passion for the community and historic preservation. He was recently elected as vice president of Washington D.C.’s Preservation League. He also chairs the Governance Committee for the League.

He earned his LL.M. from New York University, his J.D. from Washington and Lee University, and his B.A. from Bates College.
