Zachary Barnett to Lead Mayer Brown’s Fund Finance Team

Summary: The global Fund Finance practice at Mayer Brown will be under the new direction of partner Zachary Barnett in Chicago.

Mayer Brown partner Zachary Barnett has been appointed head of the firm’s global Fund Finance practice. In his new role, he will continue to further the firm’s position as a leader and innovator in the fund finance market.

Barnett is located in Chicago and will lead other members of the group, including Kiel Bowen and Timothy Hicks in Charlotte, Kristin Rylko and Todd Bundrant in Chicago, and Ann Richardson Knox in New York. They will work together to provide consistent and top quality service to clients in the fund and lending markets. The team is made up of six partners, 17 associates and counsel that work solely on fund finance matters. Numerous other attorneys contribute when needed.

The Fund Finance practice at Mayer Brown is one of the largest in the U.S. Barnett says, “Over the last five years, Mayer Brown’s Fund Finance offerings have quickly grown into a strong, well-known practice with 23 lawyers. Barnett will represent lenders and borrowers on real estate, debt, private equity, hedge fund, and infrastructure matters. His experience is extensive when it comes to representing borrowers and lenders in subscription facilities. He currently serves as co-leader of the firm’s global Syndicated Lending Practice.
