Couple Busted for Running Tropical Adult Vacations

Summary: A Florida couple believes there is nothing wrong with creating a sex resort in the Dominican Republic where clients pay one fee for their trip, including sex with handfuls of women.

All-inclusive has a different meaning for a Florida couple. Their business sent travelers to the Dominican Republic were they were then paired with prostitutes for one expense, including sex.

Jennifer and Alfred Cotton live in N. Fort Myers, Florida but advertised their business “all over the country, including Manhattan,” states Assistant District Attorney James Lynch. The couple has been charged with promoting prostitution for their part in managing the women that were sold for sex since 2011.

They conducted their business through New York. Prosecutors allege that the travelers would meet the company employee Paco at the airport. He would then take them to the resort “where they would then choose from a number of prostitutes for however long they would want it.” Travelers could also opt to book “two women at a time.”

The couple advertised their business in Backpage.com. Through there they set up a call where the couple discussed options for a bachelor party. A search warrant of their home recovered 55 pounds of gold and silver coins, thousands in US and Dominican currency, and a .38-caliber Colt automatic.

The couple argues that they have done nothing wrong because prostitution is legal in the Dominican Republic. However, DA Cyrus Vance Jr. reminds them that in New York, “it is illegal to sell prostitution-related travel services to any jurisdiction, at home or abroad: those who pay for sex facilitate a black market that profits off of the vulnerable, particularly women and children.”

The DA goes on to state that they are creating “a demand for the sexual services of prostituted women abroad, many of whom may be trafficked individuals.” They could each face up to seven years in jail but would be eligible for probation. The wife alleges that she have to care for her infirm husband that is wheelchair-bound and has multiple medical problems which may play a factor into his sentencing.
