Jared Fogle to Plead Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography

Summary: Months after his home was searched by investigators, Jared Fogle was charged with possession of child pornography, which he is expected to plead guilty to.

Jared Fogle, the once famous Subway spokesman, appears to have been lying when he made comments regarding his shock of the arrest of the executive director of the Fogle Foundation, Russell C Taylor, on pornography charges. Now Fogle is facing similar charges and is expected to plead guilty.

Fogle’s Indiana home was searched earlier this year, leading to Subway cutting all ties with him. Taylor’s home was raided two months before Fogle’s, were he was arrested on federal child pornography charges.

The search of Taylor’s home recovered “a cache of sexually explicit photos and videos Taylor allegedly produced by secretly filming minor children.” He was originally charged with seven counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Subway first picked up Fogle in 2000 when his roommate wrote an article about his success of walking to eat the Subway sandwiches and losing a significant amount of weight. The sandwich chain produced a commercial with Fogle, showing the world that he had lost 245 pounds in one year while an Indiana University student that had a simple exercise routine and ate a simple diet of Subway sandwiches.

Fogle was charged with possession of child pornography.
