Summary: ULaw in the UK is so confident in their employability rates that they will give back 50 percent of tuition fees to students that don’t get a job nine months after graduation.
The University of Law (ULaw) is enacting a new program that will allow graduate that don’t gain employment nine months after graduation to get back half of their tuition fees. This new policy is a demonstration of their commitment and confidence in their employability results.
The policy is targeted at the students enrolling in the September Legal Practice Course. The university currently has a 97 percent graduate employability rate and has strong connections with major law firms across the United Kingdom.
The legal education industry has been going through a series of changes. Concerns over employability, graduate rate, and value for money have been causing students to pause across the globe. ULaw CEO David Johnston stated “more than just a degree, today’s students want a clear return on their investment. For law graduates, this means one thing: securing a training contract or a full time job upon graduation.”
The program at ULaw trains students not only to gain the legal and business skills demanded by the industry but also teaches them commercial awareness, critical thinking, networking skills, and project management in order to build a solid career.
Mr. Johnston continued by explaining “we are the largest provider of LPC programmes in the UK because we fully understand what both students and employers are looking for. Our programmes not only ensure a deep level of understanding of English law, but also offer solid commercial skills that make our graduates some of the most competitive candidates in the job market.”
