LawCrossing 2015 Survey on Salary and Bonuses at Best Law Firms

The survey conducted each year asks about attorneys at the best law firms about the work environment at each firm. Of the lawyers at the 90 law firms surveyed, LawCrossing was able to learn information from each.

LawCrossing asked about associate life, vacation time, benefits, and law firm demands. The parts that most are interested in are salary and bonus aspects. The list arranges the firms alphabetically with areas for the law firm name, salary and bonuses for 2015, salary scale, base salary, target bonus level for 2014, and bonus factors.

Compare this year’s results to previous years to learn more about which law firms are growing financially and which have to cut salaries. There are results for an entire law firm and some firms provided information on each individual office.

The normal starting salary for a first year associate is $160,000 in the bigger locations. At DLA Piper offices in Baltimore, Boston, California, Chicago, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Reston Virginia, Seattle, Texas, and Washington D.C., first year associates can expect to make $160,000.

The 2012 bonuses at Irell & Manella LLP are higher than most with a first associate getting $17,500, building up to $60,000 for a fifth year associate.
