White Collar Defense Attorney Paul Weissman Joins Lowenstein Sandler

The White Collar Criminal Defense Practice at Lowenstein Sandler LLP has improved with the addition of Paul Weissman as a senior counsel. Weissman has over 30 years of pharmaceutical industry and white collar litigation experience.

He served from 1982 to 2002 as the Assistant U.S. Attorney in Newark, New Jersey where he was theChief of the Financial Institution Fraud Unit and Deputy Chief of the Fraud Division. In these positions, he supervised and/or conducted the prosecution for prominent tax, securities, health care, and bank fraud cases.

Weissman also worked for over twelve years for pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough as the Staff Vice President for Compliance and then after the company merged with Merck, he served as Managing Counsel.

With this extensive experience in high-profile prosecution and corporate cases, Weissman is able to offer clients valuable expertise into how government and corporate investigations work. His work managing several teams of lawyers has helped him understand how clients want to be treated.

Lowenstein Sandler has been growing their areas of strength that match the needs of clients. Their white collar team has expanded its roster in the last two years with the additions of Matthew Boxer, Shavar Jeffries, and Maureen Ruane. Boxer is a former Comptroller for the State of New Jersey, Jeffries is a former Special Counsel to the New Jersey Attorney General, and Raune is the former Chief of the Healthcare and Government Fraud Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark.

Weissman gained her J.D. from Harvard Law School and his A.B. from Harvard College. He was a Ph.D. student of history at Harvard University before law school.
