Joshua Kaufman Leaves Skadden for Cooley

Summary: Cooley LLP keeps growing their successful New York corporate practice by adding Joshua Kaufman as partner.

Joshua Kaufman is the second Of Counsel from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP to join Cooley in a month as partner. Barbara Mirza joined the LA office. Kaufman will be joining the New York office with a boost to their corporate team. He will be advising on capital markets and other corporate matters as a member of the business & finance practice.

Joshua Kaufman

Kaufman is a former investment banker for the Lehman Brothers. He has focused his legal career on equity and debt capital markets by representing US and foreign private issuers in addition to underwriters for a vast variety of complex transactions. Kaufman counsels public corporations on other transactions and gives advice on other corporate law and governance, public reporting requirements, exchange regulations, and federal securities law.

Kaufman’s expertise in corporate affairs will aid in the firm’s growth with public corporations, capital markets, and M&A practices. He earned his AB from Harvard and his JD and MBA from Columbia University.

Cooley LLP is an international law firm with over 850 lawyers working from 12 offices in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Cooley’s last few years have been very successful. They handled more technology and life science IPOs than any other firm in 2013 and 2014 in addition to all industry related venture-backed IPOs.
