Summary: Previously sealed court documents reveal Bill Cosby used sedatives to obtain sex.
Though Bill Cosby’s attorney worked to keep his client’s 2005 deposition under seal, the Associated Press won out and gained access to 16 documents in the docket. Cosby’s lawyer claimed the revelation of this information would embarrass his client. Why exactly? We see now that this settlement with Andrea Constand in 2006 involved court testimony where he admitted to gaining quantities of Quaaludes, a depressant, for the intent of having sex with young women.
When plaintiff’s attorney Dolores M. Troiani asked “When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?” and he answered “yes,” but later claimed he misheard the word “women” and meant to say he only meant he intended such a plan for one woman.
The 77-year-old comedian further admitted to giving three half-pills of Benadryl to Constand.
Currently, Cosby faces a lawsuit in Massachusetts federal court issued from Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, and Linda Traitz, who claim Cosby defamed them when he denied having assaulted them in the 1970s.

That Cosby has admitted to using drugs to coerce at least one woman into having sex with him could indeed count as “embarrassing” as his lawyer said, and could prejudice the jury against Cosby.
