Law Firm Lewis Brisbois Stays at Their Bunker Hill Office after Arson

Summary: Lewis Brisbois has elected to stay at their new location after moving from their damaged office.

After an arson fire destroyed a large apartment complex being constructed close to Lewis Brisbois’ office, they moved temporarily to the U.S. Bank Tower at 633 W. 5th Street. Having shuffled 600 lawyers and staff to the new location, they’ve decided to stay there. Though they’ve declined announcing the cost of the lease, real estate experts value it at around $115 million.

Their move marks a counter trend to what we’ve been seeing, with law firms downsizing their office size, even while increasing their staff. In this case, their new office is 215,230 square feet, as compared to 160,000 square feet at their previous location.

Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith has agreed to a 15 year lease with the owners of U.S. Bank Tower, the tallest building in the set.
