Law Firm Meckler Bulger Tilson to Merge with Cozen O’Connor

Summary: Law firm Meckler Bulger Tilson will merge into Cozen O’Connor, effective June 1. The new law firm will be better able to serve the Chicago area.

Effective June 1, Meckler Bulger Tilson will merge with Cozen O’Connor into one law firm. MBT will bring several well-known partners in the legal and political groups of the Chicago Metropolitan area to the Cozen O’Connor firm.

Meckler Bulger Tilson is a 60-lawyer law firm out of Chicago that specializes in labor and employment, complex insurance coverage, white-collar defense and government investigations, and commercial litigation.

Cozen O’Connor is a firm based out of Philadelphia but has their 575 lawyers in 23 cities on two continents. The firm specializes in advising clients of risk and making better business decisions.

This merge will give the Chicago firm the opportunity to be more visible on a national level and provide more resources to their clients. The Cozen O’Connor firm is welcoming the gain of more expertise in the Chicago and Midwest areas.

Bruce R. Meckler, founder and co-chair of MBT, will serve as Vice Chair of the Commercial Litigation Department at Cozen O’Connor. Joseph E. Tilson, the other co-chair of MBT, will serve as Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Department at Cozen O’Connor. Both will also serve on the Management Committee and National Board of Directors at Cozen O’Connor.
