Summary: DLA Piper has announced that Lauren Murzda has joined the firm as a partner in its Philadelphia office.

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Lauren Murzda has joined the firm as a partner in the Life Sciences Sector and Corporate practice as a partner. Murzda will work out of the firm’s Philadelphia office.

Murdza has experience advising life sciences and healthcare companies on complex transactions, such as those that involve corporate partnering and collaborations, technology licenses, strategic alliances, and commercial contracts such as distribution and manufacturing agreements. In addition, she represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other corporate matters.

DLA Piper recently acquired Canadian firm Davis LLC.

Lisa Haile, the co-chair of DLA Piper’s Global Life Sciences sector, said, “Lauren has a deep understanding of technology and life sciences transactions and emerging growth companies. Talented practitioners like her are in increasing demand due to the resurgence in funding for biotech, pharma and medical device companies on the heels of several high-profile IPO exits and M&A deals.”

Murdza joins the firm from Morgan Lewis. She follows the addition of Fahd Riaz, who recently joined the firm as a partner in Philadelphia.

They bring diverse and sophisticated skill sets that will complement our office’s collaborative approach to serving clients across sectors and regions.”

In February, DLA Piper added new partners.

Murdza is also the president of the Benjamin Franklin American Inn of Court, a local mentorship program. She has previously served as its secretary. Additionally, she is a member of the American Bar association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association.

Saxby Chambliss joined the firm in January.
