Schiff Hardin Elects First-Ever Female Managing Partner

Summary: The law firm of Schiff Hardin has announced that it has elected its first-ever female managing partner in the person of Marci Eisenstein.

Schiff Hardin, which is based in Chicago, is 150 years old. For the first time in those 150 years, a woman has been elected to serve as managing partner of the firm, according to The Am Law Daily.

Marci Eisenstein has been elected to the position and she told The Am Law Daily the following:

“I am really honored to have that position.”

Eisenstein takes over the roll immediately as she succeeds Ronald Safer. Safer served as the managing partner of the firm for more than a decade.

Safer will remain at the firm as a member of its executive committee. He will also co-lead the firm’s white-collar crime and corporate compliance group.

Eisenstein came to Schiff Hardin in 1979 and has worked as a member of the firm’s executive committee for more than 10 years.

She also said that she plans to remain as the firm’s co-leader of the insurance and class action groups while also saying she “will be spending considerably more time on day-to-day management.”

Eisenstein’s goals as managing partner will be to continue emphasizing the firm’s core values of collegiality, transparency and diversity while also growing the firm.
