Summary: It was announced this week that Robert Luskin will leave Squire Patton Boggs to join Paul Hastings.

Luskin recently represented Alstom in its bribery settlement with the Justice Department, which was the largest in history.

The other attorneys leaving the firm with Luskin include Jay Darden, Kwame Manley, Benjamin Wood, Jamie Gardner and Patrick J. Slevin.

A spokesperson for Squire Patton Boggs said, “We wish these individuals well in their future endeavors.”

Just last year, Patton Boggs LLP merged with Squire Sanders. Close to 90 percent of partners pledged to remain with the firm after the merger, but interest from legal recruiters increased the chance that partners with Patton Boggs could leave when the deal was finalized.

The partners joining Paul Hastings will join the firm’s government investigations practice. This practice group has added a former Pfizer government investigations head and former Foreign Corrupt Practices Act prosecutor over the past year.

Luskin has also represented Lance Armstrong and Karl Rove.
