George Zimmerman Arrested for Allegedly Throwing Wine Bottle at Girlfriend

Summary: In yet another dramatic incident, George Zimmerman has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend with a weapon—a wine bottle.

It seems that George Zimmerman just can’t stay out of trouble. According to USA Today, Zimmerman, 31, was arrested late Friday night in Florida on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon.

Seminole County booking paperwork shows that Zimmerman was picked up by the Lake Mary police and was booked at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility at 10:10 p.m.

Zimmerman’s wife filed for divorce in the fall of 2013.

Zimmerman posted bond and was released. Although he allegedly did not use a weapon in the current incident, he has been ordered to surrender all of his firearms, Judge John Galluzzo said.

The judge did not reveal much detail about the case, only that it involved a wine bottle and that the incident supposedly occurred at Zimmerman’s home. The judge asked Zimmerman to collect his girlfriend’s personal items and hand them over to his attorney.
