Former Attorney General Beau Biden Joins Grant and Eisenhofer

Summary: Departing Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden announces he has joined a firm in the private sector.

Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III, departing Delaware Attorney General and son of the vice president, though having announced plans to run for governor in 2016, has also announced that in the meantime he has joined the private sector through Wilmington Law Firm Grant and Eisenhofer. He has a friendship with the firm’s namesakes, and has a tremendous respect for the firm.

“I’ve known Stuart and Jay Eisenhofer for many years and have watched as their firm has grown into one of the nation’s preeminent champions for investors, serving many of the same constituents and causes I worked for as attorney general. It’s been a great privilege and honor to serve the citizens of Delaware the past eight years and I feel my record and commitment to justice will translate well into private practice at Grant & Eisenhofer.”

Grant & Eisenhofer is one of the nations’ top investment firms, representing investors in security actions, appraisal litigation, and so forth. They’ve also donated significantly to the Bidens’ political causes.

On speaking of their enthusiasm for taking Biden on, Stuart Grant said, “Beau was at the forefront of legal actions brought nationally against shady mortgage issuance that caused the collapse of the U.S. housing market. And he pursued major ratings agencies, financial institutions, insurance companies and other parties for their own misconduct with borrowers and investors. Given our long advocacy on behalf of shareholder and investors damaged by corporate fraud and malfeasance, Beau’s successful record of service, enforcement and tangible results align perfectly with our firm.”

Biden is also known for his anti-violence measures during his stay as attorney general. He created the Delaware’s Child Predator Task Force, which facilitated the arrest of those who could attack children. He also promoted anti-violence issues for women.

Biden received his law degree from Syracuse University.
