Dustin Diamond ‘Accidentally’ Stabbed Victim in Bar Fight

Summary: Actor Dustin Diamond, of “Saved by the Bell” fame, appeared in court earlier this week following a bar fight on Christmas night.

The actor who played Screech on “Saved by the Bell,” Dustin Diamond, made an appearance in court Monday, according to Fox News.

Diamond appeared in a Wisconsin courtroom after he posted bail on charges of stabbing a man during a Christmas bar fight.

Diamond spent the entire weekend in jail, but posted $10,000 bail prior to his hearing in the Ozaukee County Circuit Court. Diamond has been charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

Thomas Alberti, Diamond’s defense attorney, requested a reduction in bail and a jury trial for the actor. Diamond did not speak during his court appearance.

“Dustin has complete faith in the justice system,” Alberti said following the hearing. He also said that Diamond “was not happy he missed the Packers game” while he sat in jail.

Diamond “made the best of his time here. He got caught up on some books,” according to Alberti.

According to the complaint, Diamond and his fiancee tussled with two men and a woman at the Grand Avenue Saloon. It is located in Port Washington. The incident occurred on Thursday night.

Police officers responding to the bar said that Diamond told them he accidentally stabbed one of the men in an attempt to defend his fiancee. The victim was not injured seriously. A switchblade was recovered by police.

Diamond will appear in court again on January 5.
