The fourth firm to make a major announcement on Monday morning was that of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP. The firm has added Karl S. Stern to the office in Houston. Stern will serve as the head of the office’s civil litigation practice.

John Quinn, the firm’s managing partner, said, “When we opened our Houston office in July with David Gerger we knew we were adding one of the elite white collar criminal practitioners in Houston. We wanted to add a lawyer with an equal reputation to lead our civil litigation practice. It is not surprising we found him at V&E. We regard V&E as one of the top firms in the country. We have many friends there and we hope Karl’s joining us will further strengthen our relationship and provide more opportunities to work together.”
