Janice Dickinson Accuses Bill Cosby of Rape

Summary: Former supermodel Janice Dickinson claimed Tuesday that Bill Cosby raped her in 1982.

It seems all it took was an innocuous post from Cosby’s Twitter daring the audience to make a meme of him to set off an avalanche of rape charges and popular fervor, dredging up allegations from the 1980’s. And with Barbara Bowman writing an article for The Washington Post and interviewing with CNN that Cosby used drugs to rape her, the old allegations seem to be gaining traction. But now that former supermodel Janice Dickinson has made a similar accusation, claiming Cosby used a pill and a glass of wine to drug her before raping her, back in 1982, as she explained in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” it seems like the irresponsible charges are starting to fill out.

One of Cosby’s lawyers has already claimed that neither Cosby nor his people would further respond to this line of accusations. However, now that Janice Dickinson has made her statement, Cosby’s new lawyer, Martin Singer, is responding.

Singer, famous Hollywood lawyer, who has represented Charlie Sheen and John Travolta, and is “famous for sending menacing legal threats” as The Hollywood Reporter said last year, and specializes in getting celebrities out of tight spots, likewise might help Cosby, 77, to reclaim the dignity of the wholesome father figure that has characterized his career so far.

Dickinson in her interview mentioned the pill and glass of wine scenario, plot elements consistent with previous rape allegations against Cosby, saying, “The last thing I remember was Bill Cosby in a patchwork robe, dropping his robe and getting on top of me. And I remember a lot of pain.”

Singer called all this “a lie,” citing her autobiography and 2002 interview: “That interview a dozen years ago said, ‘she didn’t want to go to bed with him and he blew her off.’ The only story she gave 12 years ago to the media and in her autobiography was that she refused to sleep with Mr. Cosby and he blew her off. Documentary proof and Ms. Dickinson’s own words show that her new story about something she now claims happened back in 1982 is a fabricated lie.”

Sometimes in celebrity cases those who join in with the accusations, such as those who voiced in when Kevin Clash, voice actor of Sesame Street’s Elmo, was accused of seducing minors, or of course the many who accused Michael Jackson, even after his death, make us wonder how much of it is true.
