Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Tops the PreLaw Magazine List of “Best Law School Facilities”

Summary: The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law was named the top school of the list of “Best Law School Facilities” from PreLaw Magazine for the Fall of 2014.

The top spot in PreLaw Magazine’s “Best Law School Facilities” goes to the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, according to The Daily Helmsman.

The law school was also ranked in the top 20 for the Best Value Law Schools in the country, receiving an A+ rating from the magazine.

Dean Peter Letsou said, “We’re much more than a pretty face. And this ranking from PreLaw magazine confirms that.”

The schools are ranked in various categories, including dining services, the school’s interest in technology, parking, luxuries provided for students, luxuries provided for faculty and study rooms.

Marquette University made the list at number two and Duke University made the list at number three. Baylor University and the University of Colorado hit the list at numbers four and five, respectively.

The top 10 is rounded out with the University of Richmond, Villanova University, Yale University, University of Notre Dame, and Pennsylvania State University.

The law school was founded in 1962 as the Memphis State University College of Law.

“It’s important to note that we have more to offer than just a beautiful exterior, given how students have come to rely on many of our technological and facility upgrades and advances for their learning,” Letsou said.

“The building is a tremendous source of pride for our students, alumni, and Memphians in general,” Letsou continued. “It’s an inspiring place to go to law school here. You can feel the power and majesty of the law in this building. You feel good about being here.”
