‘Cannibal Cop’ Wants to Attend Law School

Summary: The reported ‘Cannibal Cop,’ formerly of the NYPD, has said that he is interested in possibly attending law school at some point in the near future.

The former NYPD officer known as the ‘Cannibal Cop,’ Gilberto Valle, is reportedly interested in attending law school.

According to the New York Post, Valle’s younger brother Daniel wrote a letter recently to Manhattan Federal Judge Paul Gardephe. In the letter, Daniel Valle wrote the following:

“I even bought him a number of LSAT books which he completed, and he did very well on the practice tests at the end of the books.”

This was just one of a dozen letters written to the judge prior to Valle’s scheduled November 4 sentencing for misuse of a police database.

His conviction on conspiracy to commit murder was overturned by Judge Gardephe back in July.

Valle was accused of conspiring to kill his wife and then cooking her body to eat it, along with doing the same to other women.

He was released on $100,000 bond and said the following back in July: “I want to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone who has been hurt, shocked or offended by my infantile actions.”

The judge overturned the conviction after claiming he thought it was all fantasy. He still is not completely free. The terms of his release require him to live with his mother and wear an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle.

Valle is also required to undergo mental-health treatment and is not permitted to use a computer or the internet.

Judge Gardephe wrote the following in his decision: “It was more likely than not the case that all of Valle’s Internet communications about kidnapping are fantasy role-play.”

“Despite the highly disturbing nature of Valle’s deviant and depraved sexual interests, his chats and e-mails about these interests are not sufficient — standing alone — to make out the elements of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.”
