Cooley LLP Welcomes Robert W. Phillips to San Francisco Office

Summary: Cooley LLP announced on Tuesday that Robert W. Phillips has joined the firm as a partner in its San Francisco office.

It was announced today by Cooley LLP that Robert W. Phillips has joined the law firm, according to a press release. Phillips joins as a partner in the firm’s business department. He will work out of the San Francisco office of the firm.

Phillips focuses his practice on representing technology and companies in capital market offerings. These include convertible debt, public offerings and high yield debt offerings. Phillips comes to Cooley from Latham & Watkins. He has also represented clients on mergers and acquisitions, securities laws compliance, corporate governance and private financings.

“Rob’s multifaceted knowledge of diverse corporate practices makes him a tremendous asset to Cooley as we continue to expand our public company client base across the firm,” said Fred Muto, chair of Cooley’s business department. “Rob’s experience overlays perfectly with Cooley’s core business practices, including capital markets, corporate securities, M&A, and the provision of critical advice and services to the expanding number of leading public companies with which we work so closely.”

Phillips earned both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from Georgetown University.

While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year.
