Summary: Renata Congleton arrived at her child’s school completely trashed. When school officials would not allow her to take her child home, she fled—crashing into two cars on her way back to her house.
A Florida mother began her weekend partying a tad too early, the Huffington Post reports. Renata Congleton, 27, made quite an entrance at her child’s elementary school Friday afternoon when she arrived to pick up her child—absolutely wasted.
When Congleton arrived at Trinity Elementary School in North Richey, school staff refused to let her take her child after seeing how drunk Congleton was. The school officials called the police, and Congleton fled.
However, it wasn’t too hard for the police to find Congleton. She slammed into two other cars on her way home. After she made it to her house, she innocently sat by her front door. Once the police caught up with her, she swore at them when they began to question her, WFLA.com adds. Once the officers attempted to handcuff the mom, she kicked and scratched at the cops before they got her to the ground.
Upon her arrest, officers reported that her blood alcohol content was .413—more than five times the legal limit.
Congleton faces charges of child neglect, resisting arrest, and battery on an officer. Her bond is set at $15,000.00.
However, Congleton did not let being arrested stop her. ABCActionNews.com adds that once she was jailed at the Land O’Lakes Detention Center, she tried to grab her items from a property bin. Officers at the jail had to restrain Congleton and put her in her cell.
