Shoshana Thoma-Isgur, a former enforcement attorney in the SEC’s Fort Worth Regional Office has joined Haynes & Boone in Fort Worth, the law firm announced on Friday. After returning to private practice, Shoshana joined K&L Gates’s Fort Worth office as a partner, where her practice focused on investment management and securities compliance matters. She has joined the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group of Haynes & Boone.

Thoma-Isgur is known to have represented international and domestic investment funds in fund formations and securities offerings totaling more than $15 billion. She has represented international investment advisory firms in SEC registration processes, SEC examination processes, in closing subscription-based credit facilities, and in corporate restructuring.
During her tenure as enforcement attorney for the SEC, Thoma-Isgur investigated numerous matters resulting in at least 20 enforcement and criminal actions. She was also a member of the SEC’s Asset Management Unit and participated in different SEC matters and administrative proceedings. She received the SEC Chairman’s Award for Excellence and the SEC Enforcement Directory’s Award while working for the SEC.
As member of the SEC’s Asset Management Unit, Thoma-Isgur specialized in investment adviser/investment company disclosure and drafted reference materials for the enforcement division on the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. She was also in charge of many public and CLE representations on the investor fraud education program.
At K&L Gates, she focused mainly in investment fund formation and structuring, foreign and domestic investment adviser registration, regulatory filings, securities enforcement investigations and other federal and state compliance issues.
