The law firm of Mayer Brown announced via a press release that Gabriela Sakamoto has joined the firm in its Washington, D.C. office.
Sakamoto will work as a partner in the firm’s Banking & Finance Practice and Latin America, Emerging Markets and Projects groups.
Sakamoto comes to the firm from Chadbourne & Parke LLP. She worked at Mayer Brown earlier in her career as an associate.
She has represented clients on issues regarding structured finance, project finance and acquisition finance.

Doetsch, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Banking & Finance practice and leader of the firm’s Latin America group. “Gaby’s experience handling structured finance transactions in Latin America and other emerging markets will contribute substantially to our continued ability to deliver leading services to clients on a global scale.”

The partner-in-charge of Mayer Brown’s Washington, D.C. office, Daniel Masur, said that the addition of Sakamoto continues to growth of the firm in 2014:

Sakamoto earned her law degree from New York University School of Law and her BA from Columbia University. Sakamoto is fluent in both English and Spanish. She conducts deals in both languages for her clients.
