Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton Among Celebrities Whose Nude Pictures Were Leaked Online

Summary: Many of Hollywood’s most popular celebrities were victims of an internet attack, in which their private photos were stolen and posted online for the world to see.

All celebrities know that with fame comes a complete lack of privacy. However, a few celebrities have been so unfortunate as to have nude pictures leaked on the Internet.

In one of the biggest celebrity hackings in recent years, a 4chan user was the self-proclaimed hacker that released nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, and other female celebrities, according to the Huffington Post.

A representative for Jennifer Lawrence confirmed that the photos were apparently stolen from the beloved actress’ iCloud account. “This a flagrant violation of privacy…the authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

Kate Upton’s attorney stated necessary action would be taken on the model-turned-actress’ behalf as well: “This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton’s privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.”

Whereas Apple and the Los Angeles Police Department had no comment, the FBI stated, “The FBI is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter. Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time.”

The hacker, of course, offered additional photos and even videos in exchange for money.

Some of the targeted celebrities have lashed out in response to the leak. Victoria Justice took to Twitter, tweeting “These so called nudes of me are FAKE people…Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*”

Ariana Grande’s representative informed BuzzFeed that the supposed photos of her are “completely fake.”

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, a horror movie actress, was understandably angry and disturbed that her photos were stolen and published online. She tweeted, “To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves…knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked.”

Firstpost.com also stated that Prince Harry, Mila Kunis, Venessa Hudgens, and Scarlett Johansson are other celebrities who have been victims of cyber attacks and have had their private photos posted online. The hacker behind the leaks of Johansson and Kunis’ photos was sentenced to serve time in prison.
