Perkins Coie Welcomes Ann Schofield Baker to New York Office

Summary: Perkins Coie has welcomed Ann Schofield Baker to their New York office as a partner in the commercial litigation practice. Baker is a veteran attorney who joins the firm from McKool Smith and has represented some of the most recognizable brands in various industries across the country.

The law firm of Ann Schofield Baker will join the firm’s office in New York as a partner. Baker will work in the commercial litigation practice with a focus on intellectual property and complex commercial issues.

Baker comes to the firm from McKool Smith, where she worked as the head of the firms national trademark and copyright litigation practice.

Schuyler Carroll, the office managing partner for the firm’s New York location, said the following in the release:

“I am delighted to welcome Ann to Perkins Coie and our growing New York office. Her trial experience adds bench strength to our powerhouse IP practice and her representation of some of the world’s leading luxury and consumer brands in important IP and commercial matters enhances our overall capabilities both here in New York and nationally. Ann’s addition follows the recruiting strategy we have developed in New York, to expand and grow our national practices, that already are known as established centers of excellence.”

Baker is a trial attorney who has represented recognizable brands in technology, athletic clothing, food, motion pictures, beverages, advertising and financial services. Baker has represented clients during jury and bench trials, litigation and multiple dispute resolution hearings.

William Rava is the chair of the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice. Rava said the following in the press release:

Baker earned her law degree from New York Law School. While there she was named to the National Dean’s List and was awarded the Milton S. Gould Award for Excellence in the Law of Contracts. Baker earned her B.A. from the University of Toronto, Ontario in English and Criminology.
