‘Daily Show’ Tackles Sexual Assault on College Campuses

Jessica Williams has become a very popular correspondent on ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.’ In a recent report, Williams discusses sexual assault issues at colleges across the country, namely the issues at James Madison University in Virginia.

The video lasts more than five minutes, but is a must-watch for both men and women, especially those who are in college or headed there this fall for the first time. JMU is not the only school having problems related to the reporting and handling of sexual assault cases. There are 55 other schools under investigation right now.

Jordan Klepper, another correspondent on the show, takes part in the report with Williams. It is an incredible dialogue between the two about sexual assault and one that everyone should watch.

The issue at JMU was caught on video and distributed by the perpetrators. The three men involved were expelled upon graduation. Williams points out that this is simply graduation. But, what it does mean is that the men are never allowed to return to campus the rest of their lives. She wonders how this is a punishment. Not many graduates return to their college campuses that often after graduating.
