DLA Piper Adds Seth Friedman in New York Office

It was announced this week that DLA Piper has added Seth Friedman to the firm as a partner in the litigation practice in the New York office, according to a release from the firm.

Friedman formerly served as the Deputy General Counsel for BDO USA LLP. He has experience in global accounting litigation and malpractice cases. He has handled cases in front of the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other state accountancy boards.

Richard Hans is the co-managing partner of the New York office for DLA Piper and the chair of the litigation practice in New York. Hans said the following in the release: “Seth is an exceptional and versatile lawyer with an outstanding reputation. We look forward to expanding our New York litigation team and regional relationships with him.”

Robert Mathias, the joint global leader and U.S. chair for DLA Piper’s litigation practice, said the following in the release:

“Few litigators possess the advanced technical understanding of accounting and auditing standards like Seth. His outstanding ability to manage complex regulatory matters will be an asset to our growing global base of accounting sector clients.”

Friedman has also worked as Assistant General Counsel for KPMG, LLP. He earned his legal degree from Georgetown University Law Center and his BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
