Squire Patton Boggs Combines with Mamiya Law Offices

The newly minted Squire Patton Boggs has announced that it has combined with Mamiya Law Offices in Tokyo, according to a press release from Squire Patton Boggs. The Tokyo firm has five lawyers and is corporate and transactional based.

Mamiya Law Offices opened in 2008. The founding partner is Jun Mamiya. The firm focuses on domestic and international transactions, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, securities, private equity and corporate restructuring.

Ken Kurosu, the Asia Regional Coordinator and Office Managing Partner in Tokyo for Squire Patton Boggs, said: “We have  developed a strong relationship with Mamiya-sensei, having first worked together almost 20 years ago.  Not only do we share a number of major public institutional clients, but there are synergies with our financial services and intellectual property practices in Tokyo, which will lead to new and exciting opportunities in Japan as well as elsewhere around the world.”

Jun Mamiya graduated from the Law Faculty of Kyushu University and Japan’s Legal Research and Training Institute.

With this announcement, Squire Patton Boggs now has close to 40 lawyers in Tokyo and more than 140 lawyers in the Asia Pacific region.
