Employment Attorney Art Carter Joins Littler in Dallas

Prominent labor and employment attorney Arthur T. Carter has joined Littler in its Dallas office. Carter has more than three decades of labor and employment practice experience. A Chambers USA ranked attorney and Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Carter joined the firm as a shareholder. He was previously a partner with Haynes and Boone.

In addition to Chambers, Carter has been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America and as a Dallas Labor Law – Management Lawyer of the Year in 2012 by Best Lawyers. He was also named a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and has written and lectured on a variety of labor and employment issues.

Carter also serves as an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas, where he teaches labor law, and labor and employment arbitration.

Speaking on Carter joining the firm, Earl Jones, managing shareholder of Littler’s Dallas office said, “Art has been representing employers throughout Texas and nationally for more than three decades. Carter advises companies on the employment and labor law aspects of a wide variety of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, asset and stock sales, business reorganizations, shutdowns and bankruptcy proceedings. His experience also includes counseling employers on collective bargaining and labor relations, and serving as the principal spokesman in labor contract negotiations.

Art Carter received his J.D. from the University of South Dakota (1976) and his B.A. from the University of Minnesota (1973).
