Dentist for Celebrities, Dr. Shawn Sadri, Sued for Assault

A dentist for celebrities is being sued for $1 million over claims that he beat another man in a downtown New York lounge, according to the New York Post. The dentist has worked on the teeth of former Major League Baseball star Jose Canseco and socialite Tinsley Mortimer.

The man who filed the lawsuit, Dennis Hoffmann, claims that he was in the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar on January 19 when Dr. Shawn Sadri assaulted him. Hoffmann claims he was keeping to himself and minding his own business when the attack occurred in the early morning hours.

Court papers claim that the doctor was “intoxicated” and became “angry, hostile, aggressive, agitated, violent and combative.” The dentist has an office in Central Park South and in Los Angeles. His slogan is “Beautiful smiles, beautiful people.”

The civil suit, filed in Manhattan, claims that the dentist “battered” and “pushed” Hoffmann, which caused him “severe and permanent personal injuries.”

A counter lawsuit was filed by Sadri against Hoffmann, saying that he is “a scam artist looking for money.”

Greg Garber, the attorney for Sadri, said the following:

“There’s no medical proof. There’s no criminal complaint that was filed. It’s all allegations. If there was an injury, I’m sure it’s not related to this alleged incident.”
Hoffmann’s attorney declined comment for the story with the New York Post and there is no record of any criminal complaint against Sadri.
