Mother of Four Devours Two, 72-oz Steaks in Less Than 15 Minutes

Joey Chestnut once ate a 72-oz steak in eight minutes and 52 seconds at the Amarillo Big Texan Steak Ranch. Well, his record was shattered by Molly Schuyler, a mother of four, according to The Huffington Post.

Schuyler, from Nebraska, ate the 72-oz steak in 4:58. She decided to devour a second 72-oz steak as her desert, this one taking 9:58 to finish. So, she ate nine pounds of steak in less than 15 minutes.

“We witnessed history,” Big Texan co-owner Danny Lee said. “If there’s a zombie apocalypse, I want to stay away from this girl.”

Schuyler said, “The second one, I wasn’t going really for time. There was no point. I had to do it in under an hour, so I was fine.”

Aside from the steak, Schuyler also ate a baked potato, salad, shrimp and a bread roll. When she sat down to eat the meal she weighed in at 125 pounds.

The chief executive officer of Major League Eating, George Shea, told The Huffington Post the following:

“This was an unverified event, but if accurate it is clearly an advancement for the female gender and humanity as a whole. The skills demonstrated in this exercise are directly relevant to the survival and success of the species.”

Schuyler is a self-proclaimed professional eater. At Wing Bowl 22 in Philadelphia this past January she ate 363 wings in just 30 minutes to win $22,000. It was a new record for the competition.
