Warner Norcross & Judd LLP Opens Office in Kalamazoo

The corporate law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP has opened an office in Kalamazoo’s business district, according to MLive.com. The firm is headquartered in Grand Rapids.

“As the largest law firm headquartered in West Michigan, opening a Kalamazoo office was the next logical step in furthering our Michigan growth strategy,” Douglas E. Wagner, managing partner of the firm, said in a press release. “We can now better serve our clients in Southwest Michigan from our new base in Kalamazoo, which will allow us to become more fully engaged with the community. We look forward to the continued growth of our client base in Southwest Michigan.”

The office will be led by John N. Cooper II, Ian R. Kennedy, Pamela Enslen and Jay Yelton. All four come to the firm specifically for the opening of the office in Kalamazoo.

Cooper is a civil litigator who has more than 30 years in the field. He will work as the executive partner in the Kalamazoo office. He comes from Cooper, Martin & Kennedy PC.

Enslen joins the firm from Miller Canfield, where she was resident director of their Kalamazoo office. Enslen is a litigator and mediator.

Kennedy comes from Cooper, Martin & Kennedy PC and is a corporate attorney.

Yelton, a litigator, comes from Miller Canfield, where he led the electronic discovery and records management team.

The law firm is moving into space previously occupied by Cooper, Martin & Kennedy, which closed last year when Cooper and Kennedy joined Warner Norcross.

Cooper said, “Warner Norcross & Judd is the most outstanding law firm in West Michigan and our existing clients directly benefited from us associating with Warner Norcross.”

“We knew that the market was ready for a law firm of the caliber of Warner Norcross & Judd,” Cooper continued. “We anticipated that once Warner opened its doors here, lawyers would want to associate with the firm as well.”

This is the eighth office in Michigan for Warner Norcross. The other offices are in Midland, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Holland, Southfield, Muskegon and Macomb County.
