Hinshaw & Culbertson Expand Phoenix Office Adding Gordon & Rees’ Former Co-Managing Partners

In an announcement made Friday, the national law firm, Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, welcome Stephen W. Tully and Timothy I. McCulloch to the firm as partners in the Commercial Litigation practice group, both resident in the firms Phoenix, Arizona office.

The new partners will serve as co-partners-in-charge of the Phoenix office. Both come from Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP . “Steve and Tim are exceptional commercial litigators that further enhance the firm’s ability to handle complex litigation in the Phoenix market, their arrival follows on the heels of Randy Aoyama and Bradley Logan. This group brings both talent and experience to our Phoenix office. We look forward to their leadership as we continue to bolster our Phoenix presence.” said Donald L. Mrozek, Hinshaw’s Chairman.

Partner-in-charge of Hinshaw’s San Francisco office and member of Hinshaw’s Management Committee, Robert J. They will further create and lead Hinshaw’s Phoenix office with the other terrific lawyers and staff that make up our Southwest team.”

Mr. Tully has more than 22 years of litigating cases and has in-depth experience in complex commercial litigation. He served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007 and was Majority Leader of the Arizona House from 2005 to 2007. He was also Chairman of both the House Judiciary Committee and the House Ethics Committee from 2003 to 2005. He serves as Director of CopperPoint Mutual Insurance, where he chairs the Board’s Nominations and Governance Committee.

Mr. McCulloch brings knowledge of the aviation industry to the Commercial Litigation practice. His first-hand experience advising and defending aircraft operators, banking institutions, fixed -base operators and airport sponsors through foreclosure procedures, negligence claims, airport land use, Part 16 complaints, hanger condominium development and environmental issues. He has also been involved with disputes between competing fixed-based operators spurred by allegations of procurement code and federal grant assurance violations, and has advocated for aircraft owners in disputes with aircraft management companies and aircraft manufacturers.

Mr.McCulloch represented many entities and individuals prosecuted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He has negotiated settlements with the FAA, which have resulted in lessened penalties.

Mr. McCulloch earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine, and his J.D. from the University of California, Davis, Mr. Tully earned his B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Arizona College of Law.
