Philadelphia City Councilman Bill Green Joining Dilworth Paxson

Dilworth Paxson LLP has announced that Bill Green is joining the law firm as Special Counsel. Green is a corporate attorney, who is currently serving as Chairman of the Philadelphia School Reform Commission. He was also a Philadelphia City Councilman At-Large from 2008 to 2014.

Speaking on Green joining the law firm Dilworth Co-chairman and CEO Ajay Raju said, “Dilworth Paxson continues to be a magnet for those who want to make a true impact in Philadelphia and the region.” He further added, “Bill Green’s dedication to serving the City of Philadelphia and its residents is well aligned with Dilworth Paxson’s legacy of civic engagement.”

On his part, Green, who is leaving Duane Morris LLP , said, “I am excited to be joining a firm with great legal talent and an extraordinary commitment to service.”

The addition of Green confirms Dilworth Paxson’s growth agenda, after it hired Raju earlier this year as part of a strategic change in leadership.

Green has tremendous social capital in Philadelphia. His grandfather was a Congressman and Chairman of Philadelphia’s Democratic City Committee in the 50s. He was a close supporter of then Mayor and founder of the law firm, Richardson Dilworth. Green’s father also served as Congressman, and Chairman of Philadelphia’s Democratic City Committee, as also being Philadelphia Mayor from 1980-84. Bill Green has continued with the family tradition.

Bill Green represents Fortune 500 companies, private equity and venture investors, and start-ups as a corporate lawyer. He also founded several businesses and served as President of VistaScape Security Systems. He holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
