Search Warrant Executed at Law Firm of Stafford & Stafford

A search warrant was executed at the law firm of Stafford & Stafford on Tuesday, according to Cleveland.com.

A spokeswoman for the FBI said that agents executed the warrant on the firm, which was retained by Aliza Sherman until her murder last year. Sherman retained the firm for her divorce.

Sherman was murdered in broad daylight outside the law firm’s office. The FBI did not say if the search was connected to her murder, which occurred in March of 2013. The FBI also did not discuss if the search was in connection to the indictment of her former attorney, Gregory J. Moore, who has been accused of calling in bomb threats to the county courthouse.

The search was requested by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s office. The search included deputies for the sheriff and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, according to the spokeswoman.

The law firm does not list Moore as an associate at the firm. Calls to the firm for comment were not returned.

Sherman was found stabbed 11 times at Erieview Plaza. She was 53. Sherman was scheduled to meet Moore at that location in regards to an upcoming court proceeding. A suspect has yet to be identified in the case.
