Simon Miller Moves from Thompson Hine to Blank Rome

Blank Rome LLP has announced that Simon J.K. Miller has joined the law firm as a partner in its corporate litigation group. Miller, who has more than two decades of experience in representing closely-held businesses in trial litigation over ownership disputes, leaves Thompson Hines to join Blank Rome’s New York office.

At Thompson Hine, Miller was a partner in the business litigation practice group. He represents clients in partnership/corporate dissolution proceedings, shareholder appraisal proceedings, business valuation proceedings, minority shareholder oppression or breach of fiduciary duty actions, joint venture disputes, and surrogate court proceedings relating to family-owned businesses.

Miller is a member of the panel of mediators for both the New York State Supreme Court Commercial Division for New York County and the Southern District of New York. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Commercial & Federal Litigation Section in its Committee on the Commercial Division and Committee on Arbitration and ADR.

Speaking on Miller joining the firm, Blank Rome’s Chairman and Managing Partner Alan J. Hoffman said, “Simon is an accomplished and respected attorney and his significant experience in partnership law, as well as in representing professional services firms, will be an excellent addition to our corporate litigation group.”

Simon Miller received his JD, cum laude, from Boston University School of Law and his BA from Cornell University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

He is also active in numerous community groups, including serving as a board member of the Bowery Residents’ Committee (“BRC”), a homeless services organization, and as vice president of the New York City Department of Education, Community Education Council, District 2.
