Mintz Levin Adds to Intellectual Property Team in Boston Office

The law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris Glovsky and Popeo P.C. announced that it has expanded its international Intellectual Property practice by adding William C. Geary III, Lisa Adams and Christina Sperry. All have joined as members of the firm in the Boston office. They come to the firm from Nutter McClennen & Fish. The group has experience with healthcare, medical technology, and life sciences.

“The need for sophisticated intellectual property capabilities has never been greater, as companies, particularly in medical technology and life sciences, continue to develop breakthrough innovations and seek access to the public markets,” said Robert Bodian, Managing Member of the firm. “The additions of Bill, Lisa and Christina build on Mintz Levin’s long-established strengths in these areas and further enhance our ability to serve clients with a range of complex needs.”

Geary said, “Mintz Levin’s intellectual property practice has a stellar reputation, earned from decades of experience representing clients in life sciences, healthcare, medical devices and other sectors. We are thrilled to be joining a firm with a national and international presence that will provide a broad platform for our clients and a deep bench of talent, not only with respect to prosecution, but in the corporate and litigation areas as well.”

The group has represented the likes of Johnson & Johnson and Massachusetts General Hospital during their careers. They have also represented medical device manufacturers, start-ups and research institutions.

Geary earned his law degree at Case Western Reserve University of Law after earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Adams earned her J.D. from New England Law, Boston and a B.S. in Chemistry from Texas State University. Sperry earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jim Vassallo: Jim is a freelance writer based out of the suburbs of Philadelphia in New Jersey.
