Miley Cyrus Cancels Charlotte Concert 30 Minutes before Start

According to the New York Daily News, it has been a real bad week for Miley Cyrus. Just days after her beloved dog Floyd had dog died, half an hour before the pop star’s scheduled concert at Time Warner Cable Arena, a flu-stricken Miley Cyrus canceled the concert just 30 minutes before show time. Miley Cyrus was too sick to sing. Daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Ray Cyrus rose to prominence as a teen idol after being cast in the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana, in which she portrayed the starring character named Miley Stewart.

Charlotte fans Fans who showed up with tickets to the Miley Cyrus, Bangerz concert were turned away. According to New Observer,  this would have been Cyrus’ first Charlotte concert since 2009, when she came here the day after her 17th birthday and performed as her then-Disney Channel alter ego, Hannah Montana.

A release from Live Nation stated that according to My Fox 8 that, “Due to illness, Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz” tour date scheduled for tonight, April 7, at Time Warner Cable Arena Charlotte has been cancelled.  Miley Cyrus has been diagnosed with flu and doctors have ordered her to rest. She will not be able to perform as scheduled. Refunds for Charlotte tickets will be available at the point of ticket purchase. Tickets purchased online or by phone will be automatically refunded.”

Live Nation reported in its statement that Refunds for tickets to her Charlotte show will be available at the point of ticket purchase; tickets purchased online or by phone will be automatically refunded, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Miley Cyrus is recognized as among the most successful artists to originate from within The Walt Disney Company. She has five non-consecutive number-one albums on the U.S. Billboard 200, two of which are soundtracks and are credited to her titular character Hannah Montana. In 2013, Miley Cyrus was recognized as the “Artist of the Year” by MTV.
