Jean Holloway, Dean of Hamline Law, Joins Dorsey & Whitney

Dorsey & Whitey LLP has announced that Jean Holloway, Dean of the Hamline University Law School, has joined the firm as an Of Counsel. From 1994 to 2001, Holloway had been a partner in Dorsey’s Trial and Labor & Employment groups.

Holloway assumed the full-time duties as Dean of Hamline Law in January, this year. In between, after leaving Dorsey, she had been in different leadership roles in the medical device industry. She served as vice president for Boston Scientific and Guidant, before becoming the vice president and deputy general counsel for Medtronic. After that she worked as vice president, general counsel and secretary to CR Bard Inc.

Speaking on Holloway’s return to Dorsey, Ken Cutler, the Managing Partner of the firm, said, “Jean Holloway has over 30 years of experience in corporate and private legal practice and an incredible knowledge of the medical device industry … She will be a terrific dean for Hamline Law, and we are delighted that she will be able to share her legal and industry insights with her friends and colleagues at Dorsey.”

Explaining her decision to rejoin Dorsey as Of Counsel, Holloway said, “It’s more important today than ever before that those guiding America’s law schools and developing the next generation of lawyers keep closely in touch with the actual practice of law.”
