Gerald Wells Leaves DLA Piper to Join Quarles & Brady

The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced today that Gerald C. Wells has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate Services Practice Group at its Washington, D.C. office. Prior to joining the firm, Wells was a partner at DLA Piper in Atlanta. Wells has consistently been recognized in The International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers and Best Lawyers, and as a Franchise Times Legal Eagle.

He focuses his practice in franchising, licensing, distribution, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. Wells counsels startups and established franchisors, licensors and manufacturers across a diverse range of industries, he has structured and documented numerous franchise and distribution programs, and he has been involved in numerous corporate transactions related to the acquisition and sale of franchise systems.

“We are excited to welcome Gerald to the firm,” said Ken Hallett, chair of the Corporate Services Practice Group. “He brings a great deal of franchise and corporate law experience that will be an excellent addition to our thriving group.”

Wells also represents and advises businesses on a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including corporate organization and compliance, and negotiation and preparation of commercial, technology and employment contracts.

He earned his law degree from the College of William and Mary and his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland.
