Estate of L’Wren Scott Left in its Entirety to Mick Jagger

The entire estate of designer L’Wren Scott was left to her partner, Mick Jagger, according to a report from CNN.

“I give all my jewelry, clothing, household furniture and furnishings, personal automobiles, and other tangible articles of a personal natureto Michael Philip Jagger,” Scott wrote in her will. A document was released on Thursday by the Manhattan Surrogate’s Court.

Scott was found dead by her assistant on March 17 and her death was ruled a suicide. It was determined by the New York City medical examiner that Scott killed herself by hanging.

The personal estate of Scott is estimated to be worth some $9 million. The main asset of the estate was her apartment in Manhattan, which is worth $8 million.

According to the filing, Scott signed the will on May 23, 2013 in Beverly Hills. The filing also said that her birth name is Lu Ann Bambrough.

Reports have surfaced that Scott’s mounting debt could have been the reason for her suicide. Her business, registered in London under the name LS Fashion Ltd, had $7.6 million in debt at the end of 2012.

A representative for Scott issued the following statement on Friday: “The figures quoted in the media regarding the financial status of LS Fashion Limited are not only highly misleading and inaccurate but also extremely hurtful and disrespectful to the memory of L’Wren Scott. The long-term prospects for the business were encouraging. Ms. Scott was very focused on doing what was right for her global business and for the support of her team.”

Last week, Jagger posted the following message about Scott’s death on his website: “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.”
