Eat Celebrity Meat

Is it a media hoax or a social media marketing ploy? #eatcelebritymeat! @bitelabs.org. The website which was created last month, BiteLabs.org, according to the Motherboard, proposes taking actual tissue samples of celebrities, specifically, Kanye West, James Franco, Jennifer Lawrence, and Ellen DeGeneres and growing their cloned meat for use in a marketable artisanal salami blend. The creators of the site reportedly began publishing the site February 25th. A lot of people are asking whether the new company called Bite Labs is for real.

The site writes that “Bite Labs uses traditional charcuterie techniques–curing and aging processes developed over the length of history in Italian cuisine–to turn this revolutionary meat into fine salami.” Bite Labs proclaims it is “the future of celebrity meat.”

Kevin from Bite Labs said, “Our process is very similar to existing methodologies used to make the Google Burger, just tailored to human muscle instead of cow,” according to reports by the Motherboard. And “to become meat not only in cell type but in texture and structure as well, the fledgling muscle cells are attached over a sugar support,” is what the process entails, according to their website. The site, Bitelabs.org, boasts that the “Kanye Salami, is best paired with straight Bourbon.” Gross or grandiose?
