Nancy Motes’ Suicide Note

Nancy Motes, 37, the half-sister of Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts was found dead in a bathtub full of water at a Los Angeles residence on Sunday by her fiancé John Dilbeck, according to the County Coroner’s office. A spokesman for the L.A. County Coroner Captain John Kades reported that Nancy Motes died from a possible drug overdose, according to Reuters. Prescription drugs were found at the residence.

A spokesperson from the Office of the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner has confirmed that there were suicide notes on site, and according to Perez Hilton it was reported that, “All we’re saying at this point was that there was a note found.” A source revealed to the New York Daily News, that she left a five-page suicide letter and that the paramedics found it.

The New York Daily News reported that in the days leading up to her death, Nancy Motes sounded emotionally unstable in posts to her Twitter account. The 37-year-old, Motes, launched a bitter online rant about her famous sister, Roberts, slamming her as a ‘b****’ who could not act.

Julia Roberts became a Hollywood star after headlining the romantic comedy Pretty Woman in 1990, which grossed $464 million worldwide. Roberts won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Erin Brockovich. Julia Roberts has also been named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” eleven times.

Julia Roberts and Nancy Motes shared the same mother, Betty Lou, but have different fathers. According to Metro UK, they had a falling out last summer after Motes gave a revealing interview accusing the Pretty Woman star of blocking access to their sick mother. Daily Mail UK has reported that a close friend of Nancy Motes said that she committed suicide after her family ‘cut her off entirely.’

Bollywood Life reported that Nancy Motes family has released a statement expressing their sadness over her death due to “an apparent drug overdose” and also added that they are “both shocked and devastated.” It has been reported that Nancy Motes fiancé, John Dilbeck’ is said to be too distraught to face the public since her death.
