Dentons US Reports Strong Performance

Dentons US LLP /’ target=’_blank’>Dentons US LLP US LLP has announced its financial results for the year ending on December 31, 2013. The report vindicates the merger strategy of Salans, Frasier Milner Casgrain and SNR Denton to come together in March 2013 and form Dentons. The firm reported growth of US gross revenue to $473 million and US profits per equity partner growing by 4.8% with each partner grossing about $958,000. In US, Dentons revenue per lawyer rose by 1.4% to $789,000.

Celebrating the strong performance of the law firm, Dentons US managing partner Mike McNamara said, “Thanks to our clients, 2013 was an exceptional year for Dentons in the US. Clients have really embraced our new firm and expanded capabilities, both in the US and globally … Our strong performance is merely a reflection of clients validating with their trust that Dentons’ strategy and vision aligns with how they are growing their businesses.”

The merger that created Dentons made possible large cross-border engagement of clients. One of the successes of the law firm in 2013 included mobilizing and coordinating a 75-lawyer global M& A team that advised Fortune 500 Company Molex Inc. in its $7.2 billion acquisition by Koch industries. In another similar transaction, Dentons advised the Republic of Ghana on a $1 billion cross-border bond issue in Africa.

Within six months of forming Dentons, the new entity earned a top-20 ranking on the Acritas 2013 Global Elite Brand Index as one of the most recognized legal brands in the world. The recognition proved that clients were not averse to accepting new combinations with better capabilities when it came to law firms. Praising the clients of the firm, Dentons US CEO Peter Wolfson said, “We are particularly heartened by our clients’ recognition of our new firm and our different approach to building the law firm of the future.”

Over 2013, Dentons opened its 16th office in Houston to focus more on its global energy practice. The Houston office was the 80th global office of the firm. The US firm also added 35 new laterals in its key practice areas like capital markets, corporate, energy, health care, insurance, litigation and dispute resolution, public policy and regulation and white collar and government investigations.
