Philip Weingold has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP as a shareholder in its Tax and Corporate & Securities practices. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Weingold was a partner in New York at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP.
Welcoming Weingold to Greenberg Traurig the firm’s Chair of the New York Tax Practice, Barbara Kaplan said, “Philip adds depth to our New York and national practice. His experience handling domestic and international transactions will complement our global practice.”

Weingold is known to focus his practice on federal, state, local and international tax and corporate matters. He is experienced with general partnership and corporate taxation, public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, restructurings, asset-backed transactions and executive compensation planning. He represents public and private corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, limited liability companies and individuals across a wide range of industries and commercial sectors including commercial and investment banking, manufacturing, cyber security, investment management, insurance, media, telecommunications, real estate, consulting and financial services.

Weingold holds a J.D. from Columbia University. He was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar as a law student and business editor of the Journal of Law and Social Problems. He also graduated magna cum laude in B.S. of Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Following law school graduation, he worked as an Attorney Advisor to the Honorable Theodore Tannenwald, Jr., United States Tax Court.
